To record a calibration check, open Probe Calibration, choose the probe and method, enter the reference temperature and what the probe actually reads — the app flags whether it's accurate to within ±1°C and sets a next-due date. Every temperature record you keep is only as reliable as the probe that took it, and this proves the probe is accurate. Check each probe against a known reference and let the app flag anything outside ±1°C. What it does Records calibration checks by ice point (0°C) , boiling point (100°C) or a reference thermometer. Compares the probe's reading to the reference and flags whether it's within the ±1°C tolerance expected under Standard 3.2.2. Stores a next-due date on every record so re-checks stay on schedule. Use cases An officer sees your temperature logs and asks how you know the thermometer is accurate — you show the calibration history. A probe was dropped or had its battery changed — check it before trusting it again. Start-of-shift routine — verify the probe against an ice slurry in two minutes and log it. Step by step Make an ice slurry (ice and water, well stirred) for 0°C, or use boiling water for 100°C at sea level. Open Probe Calibration from the sidebar and select Record check . Choose the probe and the method (ice point, boiling point or reference thermometer). Enter the reference temperature and the reading the probe shows . The app flags Pass or Fail against ±1°C. Set the next-due date and save. If a probe fails Record the corrective step — adjust it, send it for service, or take it out of use — against the check. Any staff member can record a calibration check; editing and deleting is a manager task.
