How to record pest control in FoodSafety HQ: log internal and contractor inspections, upload reports, and keep a sighting register with actions — a defensible…
Pest Control is where you keep a live record of your pest-management program — scheduled inspections, your contractor's reports, and any pest sightings with the action taken. Under Standard 3.2.2 your premises must be kept free of pests, and a contract on the wall doesn't prove that; dated records do. Log inspections and contractor reports, and record any sighting with the action taken. What it does Records inspections (internal or contractor) with findings, action taken and the next due date. Lets you attach the contractor's report to each inspection. Keeps a sighting register — any pest seen during service, logged and closed out. Use cases An officer asks how your pest program actually works — you show dated inspections, contractor reports and resolved sightings, not just a service contract. A staff member spots a cockroach during service — they log a sighting so it's actioned, not forgotten. Your quarterly contractor visit is due — the next-due date reminds you to book it. Who can do what Recording an inspection and logging a sighting can be done by staff. Editing, resolving or deleting records is a manager/admin task. Step by step: log an inspection Open Pest Control from the sidebar and stay on the Inspections tab. Select Add inspection and choose the type — internal or contractor. Enter the date, who carried it out (or the contractor's name), and the findings. Record the action taken and set the next due date . Attach the contractor's report if you have one, then save. Step by step: log a sighting Open Pest Control and switch to the Sightings tab. Select Add sighting , choose the pest type and location, and describe what was seen. Save it. A manager records the action taken and marks it resolved once dealt with.
